Urgent Care

Also known as: Immediate Care, Walk-in Care
When you need care quickly, but don’t need an emergency room, visit a Providence Urgent Care clinic. We can handle most urgent health care needs in less time and for less money than a traditional emergency room. We’re open late, too. No appointment necessary.

Urgent care is a cost-effective alternative to the emergency department for illnesses or injuries that aren’t life threatening. Our urgent care providers can do stitches and casts and order blood work and X-rays. Depending on your location, if the doctors determine you need a higher level of care, you’re admitted directly to the emergency department.

Please note: urgent care does not provide preventive exams.

When to call 911

You should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department if you or someone else experiences bleeding that won’t stop, shortness of breath or unconsciousness.

Choosing the correct site of care (ExpressCare clinic, ExpressCare Virtual, primary care clinic, walk-in clinic or the Emergency Department) can impact both how soon you can be treated and how expensive your care will be.
