Pulmonary rehabilitation is a supervised program of exercise and education. Patients will participate in sessions two to three times per week for up to 36 sessions under the care of the pulmonary rehabilitation specialist. The program is open to individuals diagnosed with diseases such as emphysema, chronic asthma, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is tailored to meet each individual’s needs and goals. Your exercise program may include some or all of the following types of equipment:
To participate in the Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and to qualify for insurance coverage, you must be referred by your doctor. Once you have completed the outpatient, monitored program, we encourage you to continue in our maintenance program, Phase III, which continues to offer supervised exercise.
