Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps people with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities lead independent, productive and fulfilling lives.

Occupational therapy uses your daily occupations to restore independence and function. Adapted tasks such as fishing, gardening, sewing or cooking are included in your treatment regime to help you gain function and independence.

Our occupational therapists assess your current abilities and work with you, your family, caregivers and your medical team to create personalized goals to help you participate in the activities that define you. We use a holistic perspective to evaluate how a condition affects your body and mind. OT is a science-driven, evidence-based rehabilitation treatment focused on increasing your function to the highest possible level.

Before you start treatment, consider what your expectations are. What roles have been changed or lost due to the illness or injury you’ve experienced? Your answers will help your therapist identify a treatment plan to get you back to living life to the fullest.
