At St. Joseph Medical Center, we understand how difficult it can be for people with cancer to find time, transportation and financial resources for their cancer treatment, especially if they live in a rural area. The Montana Cancer Specialists and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center have partnered to provide high-quality and convenient chemotherapy treatment in Polson.
The Otto Klein Cancer Center offers the convenience of receiving cancer treatment at St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson rather than traveling to Missoula for weekly chemotherapy treatments. People undergoing chemotherapy need to focus on getting well and travel after treatment is not optimal.
The Cancer Center includes two exam rooms, two treatment rooms with space for eight patients to receive chemotherapy treatment comfortably, a waiting area including a kitchen and a supportive care counseling center to help patients and families confront the illness.
The Montana Cancer Specialists treat patients at the Otto Klein Cancer Center by developing unique cancer treatment plans to meet the needs of each patient.
Each week, an Oncologist from the Montana Cancer Specialists in Missoula travels to Polson for appointments, chemotherapy treatment and to meet with families and primary care physicians. With the help of four staff members, patients typically receive chemotherapy treatment during these appointments. By providing specialized cancer treatment we are able to treat 30-40 patients per week.
