April 14, 2014
MISSOULA – Providence St. Patrick Hospital today announced it will quickly adapt to changes in Western Montana’s healthcare marketplace by continuing its Mission of creating healthy communities, providing the best care for patients, maintaining its award-winning high-quality care, lowering the cost of care and offering excellent healthcare choices and services.
“We’ve been serving our community for more than 140 years, and we will continue to do so for decades to come,” said Providence Western Montana Chief Executive Jeff Fee. “As the healthcare landscape has changed over the years, we have had to transform how we provide care and to be forward thinking. The dynamics of an evolving payer and purchaser environment require organizations like St. Pat’s to provide comprehensive services. And in order for us to continue to provide the best and broadest range of services to respond to patient needs, we are moving forward with our long-range regional investment strategy.”
“I am excited to announce that the first step in our plan will be the addition of comprehensive women’s and children’s services. Services will include inpatient obstetrical and newborn care, with a Level 2 neonatal intensive care unit; an expanded inpatient and outpatient pediatric program; and outpatient obstetrical/gynecological and perinatology care.”
“In this new, competitive marketplace, we remain committed to providing excellent care and making Missoula a statewide medical destination. We have pledged an ongoing investment to keep and attract the best talent and engage the community to promote better health.”
St. Patrick Hospital will continue to build relationships with other healthcare organizations, providers, clinics and strategic partners to ensure patients can receive a full-range of services from one, coordinated healthcare system.
And, while this change is under way, the century-old Mission will remain a constant.
