Providence St. Patrick Hospital is the only hospital in Missoula that gives you the choice of selecting an OB-GYN or a midwife to help you throughout your pregnancy, labor and delivery.

The doctors on staff at Providence St. Patrick Hospital are highly-regarded and sought-after OB-GYNs with more than 90 years of proven excellence.

Our midwives are nationally certified and licensed and will help you deliver your baby at the hospital.

Family Maternity Center

Experience the high-quality and award-winning care that Providence St. Patrick Hospital is known for by delivering your baby at our new Family Maternity Center.

We offer a unique environment: your own beautifully-decorated private room where you’ll labor, deliver and recover. Your baby will stay with you in the same room after delivery (unless your baby needs additional care), allowing you to spend those initial precious moments together.

If a caesarean delivery is needed, the C-section suite is also within the Family Maternity Center.

Pain management during labor

Along with epidurals, we also offer nitrous oxide during labor. This colorless gas is inhaled via a mask, giving you a less invasive option for pain management. Unlike an epidural, nitrous oxide gives you full mobility during all stages of labor, but can also be used with an epidural, if needed. Ask your OB-GYN or midwife to learn more about nitrous oxide.

Birth and Family Classes

We offer education classes (free for moms delivering at Providence St. Patrick Hospital) about childbirth preparedness, breast-feeding and newborn care to prepare you for this next phase of your life. All classes are taught by certified childbirth educators. Space is limited. Registration is required.
