Weight Loss Program
This program is designed to teach a small group of adults to take gradual steps toward changing their eating and physical activity behaviors. Most diets are designed for rapid weight loss and ignore basic nutritonal adequacy. These plans can also ignore individual preferences.
MakeItFit is different. Week by week participants will learn how to maintain a healthy, balanced eating plan; portion distortion and its impact on our eating behaviors; how to maintain an exercise plan; and how to manage high-risk eating situations.
MakeItFit is led by Sara Engberg, RD, CDE who has attended the Certification in Adult Weight Management Training sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She will help participants to design eating and activity plans they can live with. In addition to the weekly group sessions, each participant will recieve a workbook and other materials. This program is designed for people who are committed to taking positive steps toward better health and following a weight management program based on sound nutrition principles.
Our classes will meet every Thursday for 16 weeks beginning April 3, 2014, from noon - 1 p.m. at the Providence Center Conference Rooms. The cost is $250 with $50 refundable upon completion.
