Diabetes Self Managment Training Program

The Diabetes Care Center offers diabetes self management classes, either in small groups and one-on-one. Please call (406) 329-5781 for more information and to preregister. All classes are held at Diabetes Care & Prevention Center:

One-on-One Classes

Individual diabetes self management education classes are scheduled at your convenience, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with an RN, CDE or RD, CDE. Provided in Florence and Polson as well as Missoula, Montana.

Insulin Pump Training and Management

Pumps we train on are: Medtronic Minimend, Insulet Omnipod and Animas. Cost of initial training is usually free.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring

  • Sensors we train on are: Dexcom or Ipro. 


Monthly Group Classes

Join us at the monthly diabetes self management classes taught by a RN,RD or PharmD certified diabetes educators (CDEs). You pick and choose the one hour class that’s right for you! For people newly diagnosed or simply needing a refresher course to manage their disease. These group classes are fun, interactive AND offered at ONE-HALF the cost of an individualized appointment. Paid for by most insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Monthly Class Schedule:

Type 2:

  • First, second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month

  • Noon-1 p.m.

Type 1:

  • Fifth Wednesday of a month
  • Noon-1 p.m
