Medical Interests

I have expertise in appropriate interventional treatment of acute musculoskeletal pain and chronic neuropathic pain. I care about finding the origin of persistent pain, and work to empower patients to not be dependent on the medical system. I believe that integrating behavioral health into treatment is necessary to understand the patient as a person and not just a body part.

Personal Interests

I am happily married with two daughters, and we play bluegrass as a family. I also sing in Dolce Canto, enjoy triathlons and international travel. I have a long history of providing medical services to the underprivileged overseas.

Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

The BEST - - I was treated really well by Dr. Caldwell.

The dr. ordered an MRI for my back when it turns out I had a hip issue that could have been seen on an x-ray which I had after the MRI showed no back problem - I am very unhappy with the care I have gotten from Dr. Caldwell. [...]

Overall my experience was okay. I guess I am looking for a "cure all" for my continuing Shingles pain. I have to except the fact that there may not be a magic wand, and hope that over time the pain will get less and less, as [...] has related to me. I just wanted to explore all my options.

Nothing but good. I was very impressed with everyone I came in contact with.

I felt that Dr. Caldwell genuinely wanted to help me.

The staff and Doctor as well as the Doctor's nurse made me feel very comfortable and at ease with my neck evaluation. Excellent care.

Dr. Caldwell is a very good listener and has been very concerned about my pain levels, help that he can offer for my problems, and I felt like we had built a very good doctor - patient relationship in a very short period of time. A lot of this is his attitude. He doesn't rush in and out. He sits and talks and listens and responds.

Dr. Caldwell spent a great deal of time with me. I did not feel rushed.

Good - I needed to speak with him on Saturday evening and I was surprised that I actually did get to. Almost unheard of now days.

I am a physician myself. Dr. Caldwell and Dr. [...] at the pain clinic spent the appropriate amount of time explaining non surgical methods for managing my chronic pain.Dr. Caldwell preformed a [...] injection which along with drug therapy coordinated by Dr [...], Dr. Caldwell, and my primary care Doctor has provided great relief. They could not have been more professional nor more empathetic. The injection by Dr. Caldwell was fast, efficient and nearly painless. When seeing them in their offices I thought I was keeping them too long but they both insisted they had the time. I highly commend them, will definitely go back as needed and would recommended both without hesitation. Great people and great care.

Very kind & answers all questions & explains everything.

Dr. & staff very professional.
